A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the exhibition: High Fashion Low Countries
It was a part of the Modo Parcours in Brussels.
The project is initiated by the Dutch Embassy in Brussels and contains two themes: sustainable and slow fashion. The embassy has a twofold objective. First strengthening the existing partnerships between Belgium and the Netherlands. Second connecting relevant actors in the sector such as students, teachers and designers
in order to share knowledge and expertise on durability and
entrepreneurship.
There were six designers involved in the exhibition:
Lena Lumelsky (BE),
Celine De Schepper (BE), Katrien Van Hecke (BE), Jantine Van Peski (NL),
Pauline Van Dongen (NL) and Natalie De Koning (NL).
Also there were six recent graduates from prestigious Dutch and Belgian schools:
Manon Kundig (Antwerp
Academy, BE), Klaas Rommelaere (Royal Academy of Fine Arts Ghent, BE),
Morta Griskeviciute (Gerrit Rietveld Academy, NL), Yvonne Kwok (Amfi,
NL), Aliki Van Der Kruis (Sandberg Institute, NL), Jef Montez (Artez,
NL).
I must say, I was impressed by these designs. Some things I would immediately wear and also the different levels where a nice and pleasant surprise. Hope you like the pics and the clothes!
